Photojournalism
Photojournalists capture images that take us to places we might never see and help us to see familiar places from a fresh, new perspective.
At Penn State, photojournalism courses are designed to promote critical thinking and develop visual story telling skills in the context of a rapidly changing technological environment.
While completing a series of news, feature, sports, picture story and multimedia assignments, students learn to appreciate and produce a quality visual report.
In addition to class assignments, numerous opportunities are available for students to obtain relevant, practical experience in photojournalism. Students are encouraged to pursue internships and strengthen their portfolios through work for campus publications.
